Keith Turner, Brighton has grown up with his family, museums and develop a love of history. After college, Turner worked at the University Of Colorado Museum Of Natural History, Boulder, Colorado and the Smithsonian Institution in Washington, DC, before returning to his hometown of Rochester, where they are strong at the National Museum of Play.

But after working in museums, for a total of 13 years, Turner was ready for a new career. She returned to school and received a master’s degree in business and is currently Director of Marketing at the Genesee Regional Bank.

What are you doing?
I was responsible for advertising, public relations and philanthropic sponsors, as well as internal and external communications.

Why have you chosen this career or your level?
I knew from my first year in college, I wanted a career in the (museums). After working in Washington, DC, and Colorado, I returned to Rochester and collections manager at the National Museum of the strong play in the eight years. Ready for change, I returned to school for my MBA, I knew he would give me great experience as I could (in) different directions.

What has been your biggest obstacle to career?
After 13 years in museums, I had no other way, like a long dream of the School of Business. In the Executive MBA program at the Rochester Institute of Technology (I) and new skills of communication, which in my position in the Genesee Regional Bank. Completed my MBA and start a new career was the biggest problem I have in the past, but in a year, I can tell you it was worth the candle.

What have you treated great project that you are proud of?
Last year I chaired the ROC City’s growth planning, a group of young professionals who together constitute the second annual event in May It took six months of planning and funding for the draw, but I was extremely pleased that the team. I was so proud of our work, we saw 450 people in the flow of George Eastman House (the case).

What advice have you received in the past, helped to guide your career?
Do not be afraid to deviate from the “safe” choice. Get outside your comfort zone and learn what you can reasonably achieve.

How do you spend per day?
As virtually the work demands in the field of banking, I have to learn to play golf and get an obsession.

What is your true career goal?
So always looking for new challenges, new experiences and new opportunities to learn and grow. And, of course, for those with family, friends and community participation.

What advice would you give to young professionals?
Never underestimate what you can. Simply because you are not in the class of 12 math does not mean you can not cut in the Business School.
